Finally, I get to run in the first NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series race. The race I have been preparing for. August 30th, it’s here. Last week, the car handled great in the lap that I ran in the feature before losing another driveshaft. Fixed the driveshaft alone and left the setup alone.
I ran the heat race and the car was very tight. Made a couple minor adjustments for the feature. But, the car was still really tight. Eventually I realized if I eased it into the corner, it wasn’t too bad and didn’t push up the track. Which sucked because I knew I was losing a couple car lengths every corner. But, it was enough to keep the car happy enough.

Coming to the closing laps, I knew I was about to get lapped. It was just a matter of time before I seen the “move over flag” being displayed for me. Finally coming to two to go, I seen the “move over flag”. I stayed high and did my best to keep it smooth knowing the leaders were coming in hot. Coming to their checkered flag, we went three wide across the line. Rodney Morgan, was able to stag the lead and the win across the line.

We are going to do some work to the car and figure out what we need to do to get this thing handling correctly. Next race is at Penn Can Speedway for the next NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series race.
